Bionic Couriers

Fuel Punk

/ˈfyo͞o(ə)l pəNGk/ · noun

A daring, adrenaline-seeking runner with bionic enhancements who thrives on high-risk, high-speed deliveries. The fearless superstars of the Runner community.

“Only a true Fuel Punk could navigate those rooftops at that speed.”

In the decaying megacity, Runners carry what nobody else will: encrypted data, contraband, packages no one asks about. They move across the districts unseen.

Their biomechanical limbs make them fast. But every augmentation runs on friction. Stop moving and you run dry.

Move to Charge

Rush sprinting across a wet rooftop, seen from above

Run

Parkour is the power source. Vault, wall-run and leap across the crumbling skyline to keep your bionics fed.

A robotic ankle skidding along a ledge, throwing sparks

Grind

Every slide, skid and landing builds friction. Sparks mean charge. Charge means speed.

EMP handing a glowing package to a hooded figure in an alley

Deliver

Get the package across the city before the corporations, rival crews or the clock catch up with you.

Story

The crew sitting on a rooftop ledge at dusk with their backs to us, looking over the city

They took our parents. We took the streets.

Years ago a corporate explosion tore through the city and left a generation of kids to raise themselves. They grew up in the districts the corporations forgot, patching their bodies with salvaged bionics and covering every wall in paint.

The Lighthouse still glows over the slums. The Punks are still down here. And the Fuel Punks run between them, carrying whatever pays.

The Crew

EMP crouched on a rooftop ledge in the rain

Cyber Runner

EMP

Empathy. An AI–human hybrid in a synthetic bionic body, and the final creation of Ashwin Tessier. Corner her and she drops a pulse that kills every circuit around her except her own.

Rush leaping a rooftop gap

Street Runner

Rush

Fastest legs in the crew, and neither of them came with him. Rush plots routes nobody else would try and finishes them before anyone can argue.

Zip balancing on a pipe high above the street

Street Runner

Zip

Balance like a cat and nerves like none at all. If there's a pipe, a wire or a ledge an inch wide, Zip is already halfway across it.

Tank vaulting a rooftop railing

Street Runner

Tank

Goggles down, mask up, gone. Tank takes the deliveries that have to land before the cameras finish turning.

Cab spraying graffiti in an alley

Hardcore Fuel Punk

Cab

Mechanic, painter and the loudest mouth in the crew. If it runs, Cab can fix it. If it's a wall, Cab has already tagged it.

Ash dropping into an alley, coat flaring

The Godfather

Ash

Ashwin Tessier rebuilt the world once and regrets it. Now he rebuilds runners instead, quietly, in the shadows, for the people his inventions hurt.

Redline landing on a rooftop, cracking the ground

Heavy

Redline

Armored legs, heavy hands and a red visor that's the last thing a corporate patrol sees. When the crew needs a door gone, Redline is the door.

A masked courier sitting on a stack of shipping containers

Wildcard

Wildcard

Nobody has seen the face under the mask. Shows up on the highest container in the Stacks at dusk, takes a job, disappears. Nobody asks twice.

Kicks & Mods

Sneakers are everything. Different kicks change how you move: more grip, more spring, more spark. Swap them, mod them, buy new ones, or lift better ones.

A battered sneaker fused with a robotic ankle

Kicks

Every pair carries its own ability. Grip soles hold a wall-run longer, spring heels jump further, spark soles charge faster.

A salvaged bionic leg covered in stickers

Limbs

Salvaged, mismatched and personal. Bolt on new parts to change how your runner moves. Different tech, different stories.

A courier backpack with a glowing package inside

Packs

Every delivery rides on your back. Better packs carry more, hide better and keep the cargo intact when you don't land clean.

The Districts

Towers of stacked shipping containers

D-14 · Cassette Futurism

The Stacks

Shipping containers stacked into a city of their own. Ladders, laundry lines and a thousand lit windows.

A smoky industrial district of pipes and lanterns

D-07 · Diesel Punk

Gas Town

Soot, steam and red lanterns. The pipes run everywhere, and runners use them as roads.

A scrap wasteland with a half-buried giant robot

Outskirts · Scavenger Punk

The Mound

The city's junkyard, piled to the horizon. Everything thrown away ends up here, and so does everyone looking for parts.

A refinery rising out of desert dunes

Outskirts

The Fuel Factory

A refinery rising out of the desert. Fuel goes out. Nobody is sure what goes in.

Black corporate towers and a pyramid lined with red light

Upper District

The Lighthouse

Black towers lined with red light, watching the slums from above. Corporate ground. Runners don't get invited.

The Punks

Anarchists living on the fringes, raised on the streets after the blast. They fight back with street art, hacking and raw DIY tech. Chaotic, loud, and fiercely loyal to their own.

Joy crouched in front of the skull-faced robot Kill

Kill + Joy

Joy talks. Kill doesn't. Nobody knows which one is in charge, and nobody is dumb enough to find out.

Pound with a giant pink robotic fist

Pound

Punches first and keeps the receipts. That pink arm used to be a forklift.

Grimm in a cracked skull helmet with a red mohawk

Grimm

Grins with a skull and paints with a grudge. Every Lighthouse wall within ten blocks has his tag on it.

Snuke, a rusted skull-chested mech, stomping through a graffiti alley

Snuke

Built from three scrapped loaders and a grudge. You hear the exhaust stacks two blocks before you see the skull.
